ILLUMINATION OPTICAL DEVICE AND PROJECTOR USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly illuminate a part to be irradiated with light beams from two or more laser array light sources. SOLUTION: Laser light emitting parts are arranged in a line in the two or more laser array light sources 1a and 1b. Optical members 2a and 2b respectively change all the array light beams from the corresponding laser array light sources into parallel beams. The respective array light beams changed into the parallel beams are multiplexed by an optical multiplexing element 3 and the multiplexed light beam is uniformized by a homogenizer 4 so as to uniformly illuminate the part 5 to be irradiated with the light beam uniformized by the homogenizer 4.
