PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for testing the surface-characteristics of a member, such as the anti-offset properties, fixation performance, etc., of a fixation member to a low-energy fixation-type toner. SOLUTION: In the method for testing the surface characteristics of the member, a ratioμs-b(1)/μs-b(2) between an adhesion constantμs-b(1), computed by measuring the stationary contact angle and backward contact angle of the surface of the member by the liquid of a dipole moment of 3.0 debye and substituting them in equation 1 and an adhesion constantμs-b(2), obtained by performing a similar measurement though the use of a liquid of a dipole moment of 0 debye is used as a determining means, whereμs-b(n)=(cosθb&-cosθs)/ sinθb...(1) (where,μs-b(n) is an adhesion coefficient; n is 1 or 2;θb is retreating contact angle; andθs is stationary contact angle.).
