PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optically active organic silicon copolymer at low cost which has a structure of an organic substituent containing chiral center directly bonding to a silicon. SOLUTION: The copolymer is shown by the general formula (wherein R1 and R2 is equal or different, an alkyl, an aralkyl, an aryoxyalkyl, or alkyl ether group; R* is equal or different, a chiral alkyl group having a branch structure at aβ-position; 0.001<=x<=0.999; n is 10-100,000).
