PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide metallic wire in which the wear resistance of the tooth part is sufficient even to high speed driving, the cracking of the edge parts can be prevented, and further, carding property is also good. SOLUTION: The base metal has a chemical composition composed of, by weight, 0.80 to 0.90% C, 0.15 to 0.50% Si, 0.60 to 0.90% Mn, 0.10 to 0.20% Cr and 0.02 to 0.09% V, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities.
