PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for an azo coloring agent that is environmentally friendly and economical. SOLUTION: The production method for the azo coloring agent is composed of the following (a), (b) and (c): (a) one or more kinds or mixture of coupling components, and one or more kinds or mixture of compatible diazonium salts, are sprayed, in a form of solution or suspension, from a nozzle toward co- colliding points in a reaction room surrounded by a housing of a micro-jet reactor; (b) a gas or a gasified liquid are fed from an opening part into the reaction room in order to keep a gas atmosphere in the reaction room; and (c) the obtained product solution or suspension, and gas or gasified liquid, are taken out of the reactor through another opening part of the housing by pressurizing in the side of gas inlet or depressurizing in the side of product and gas outlet.
