PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor using a charge generating material excellent in sensitivity both to a positive charge and a negative charge. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic photoreceptor is obtained by using a phthalocyanine compound of the formula 1. (M is one of Si, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ga, Ge, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ru or Sn; X is a 2-6C hydrocarbon, wherein the carbon atoms forming the hydrocarbon may have substituents respectively; the substituents of X may form a ring through binding to each other; Y1 and Y2 are both S or one of them is S and the other is O; R1 to R4 are each H, cyano, nitro, a halogen, hydroxy, an alkyl, an aryl or the like).
