PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter that can be easily inserted since the pushing and tracking force from a basic edge of a shaft can also be transmitted from a reinforcing body to a forefront of the shaft. SOLUTION: A balloon 5 is attached to a tip of a shaft 2 which consists of at least a flexible forefront 2F and at least a rigid basic edge 2B, and forms a slim neck portion 2S at the tip of the rigid basic edge 2B, whereas the openings 9F and 9B are made at the anterior and posterior edges, and a tube 4 for a guide wire having a guide wire lumen 6 is arranged from the side of the forefront 2F to the tip of the balloon 5 through the balloon 5, while the enforcement body 3 is placed in the inside of the fluid lumen 7 formed between the peripheries of the forefront 2F and the guide wire tube 4, thus the balloon catheter 1 can be fixed, without allowing the basic edge 3B of the enforcement body 3 to come in direct contact with the slim neck portion 2S of the basic edge 2B of the above shaft 2. |
