PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell extract composition intended for synthesizing cell- free protein and having high preservation stability in a lyophilized condition, and to provide a cell extract composition intended for synthesizing cell-free protein and having high preservation stability in a frozen condition. SOLUTION: This lyophilizable or lyophilized cell extract composition for synthesizing cell-free protein is characterized by containing inositol. The other objective feezable or frozen cell extract composition for synthesizing cell-free protein is characterized by containing a polyhydric alcohol.
