PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing a microarray capable of transferring and printing the dots of gene material formed on a specimen plate in high density and pitch precision. SOLUTION: The transfer substrate 2 for the present method is composed of a thin layer 2012 of a specimen containing a gene material to be transferred and a thin layer 2011 containing a volatile substance evaporating by the irradiation of light and the layers are laminated on a substrate directing the specimen thin layer 201 outward. The thin layer 2011 containing the volatile substance is irradiated with light to eject the specimen containing the gene material in the direction separating from the transfer substrate 2 by the pressure of the gas generated by the light irradiation. The ejected specimen is transferred to the microarray substrate 1 placed opposite to the transfer substrate 2.
