PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lowering of a printing quality caused by formation of a correcting table every time when a new head is changed as to an ink jet printing apparatus using a plurality of heads for ink of one kind. SOLUTION: As to a printing apparatus by using two heads for an ink of one kind, previously respective printing patterns of four heads A, B, C and D are printed and respective correcting tables are formed based on a reading data (step A301-A304, B301-B304,..., C304,..., D304). Then the correcting tables previously formed are combined as to two new combined heads every time when the heads are changed and the correcting tables are applied to the ink jet printing apparatus.
