PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planting material for gardening, made by using waste paper such as waste newspaper or magazines, and suitable for potted plants and the like. SOLUTION: This planting material for gardening is such that waste paper fibers obtained by recycling waste paper, and crushing the thus recycled waste paper, formulating a paste, filler, ceramic powder, bamboo charcoal powder the thus crushed waste paper fibers, kneading the thus obtained mixture, maturing the kneaded mixtures, forming the matured resultant mixture so as to have a granular shape followed by drying the thus obtained resultant mixture.
