The invention includes a link-welding arrangement (31), which forms part of a production line for producing from a series of open links (2', 21', 22', 23') a series of closed links (2; 21, 22, 23) such as to form a chain (2), wherein said link-welding arrangement (31) includes a plurality of gas flames for heating respective weld locations. Disposed in the transport direction of open links (2') is a number of sequentially structured gas flames (51), each of which is adapted to deliver an adapted amount of thermal energy to the links. The gas flame (51'), or a coordination of gas flames, situated last in the transport direction, terminate the welding process. Chosen gas flames can be adjusted in relation to a prevailing chain link temperature, so as to heat respective links (21, 22, 23) to a predetermined temperature. |
