PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guard device capable of certainly protecting farm products such as melon, watermelon and the like cultivated in the field from birds and animals. SOLUTION: This guard device for protecting farm products is formed of a hard material by installing a flange part 3 on the lower end opening of a hat-like body 2 and making plural small holes 2a on the hat-like body 2. The guard device 1 itself is constituted by making a through hole 3a in the flange part 3, brought to cover the farm products 5 cultivated in the field and fixed to the ground 6 by passing a long fixing material 4 through the through hole of the flange part 3 and striking it from above.
