PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet cutter capable of easily moving a cutter blade between a cutting operation position and a noncutting operation position by using reciprocating motion of the cutter blade, a cutting plotter and electronic equipment having this sheet cutter. SOLUTION: This sheet cutter is characterized by having a cutter unit 175 composed of the cutter blade 231 and a cutter holder 232 for holding this cutter blade, a cutter carriage 205 for rotatably supporting the cutter blade 231 between the cutting operation position and the noncutting operation position for retreating the cutter blade from a cutting object via the cutter holder 232, a reciprocating mechanism 202 for reciprocating the cutter blade 231 via the cutter carriage 205 and blade setting mechanisms 246 and 247 for rotating the cutter blade 231 by relatively pressing the cutter unit 175 in the backward moving direction at the tail end of a forward movement, and relatively pressing the cutter unit in the forward moving direction at the tail end of a backward movement.
