The towed body has a cylindrical IR flare (3) at its rear and spaced from the towed body by a towing cable during the combustion duration of the IR flare, the rear of the IR flare fitted with a vane ring (1), with a number of peripherally spaced radial fins (10) for stabilising its flight.
