PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a vegetation mat which preliminarily has many spaces therein, has sufficient yield strengths, as plants spread the roods, enables such a greening vegetation as designed, can preliminarily contain activated carbon or the like to improve absorbability, and has improved handleability. SOLUTION: This vegetation mat 1 comprises plural felt layers 2, and further contains a nutrient 10, an improving agent 4, activated carbon 5, a fertilizer 7, and prescribed soil microbes in scattered states. A reinforcing sheet 3 is disposed between the layers, and the growths of greening plants in the vegetation mat are controlled within five months. Thereby, the vegetation mat having sufficient yield strengths, enabling such a greening vegetation as designed, having good handleability and capable of lowering the cost is obtained.
