The actuators (MV) of a vehicle electro hydraulic braking system are controlled by a microprocessor based module (100). The hydraulic pump 42) and system pressure are also controlled. Inputs are provided by a range of sensors that measure braking system functions and vehicle operating parameters. When a specific condition occurs a self test of the actuators is made.
