PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain sufficient sealability between an opening end of an inner cap and a sealing part of a writing instrument body. SOLUTION: The axially movable inner cap 8 urged in a direction of an opening end of a cap is provided in an outer cap 7. When the cap 6 is mounted on an outer surface of the writing instrument body 2 at a nib 3 side, the opening end of the cap 8 is closely contacted with a seal 41 of a rear position from an air hole 55 of the body 2. The cap 8 is molded of a synthetic resin having a bending elastic modulus of 50 to 2,500 MPa. The cap 8 is molded of a polypropylene having a Rockwell R hardness of 70 to 120 or a polyethylene having a durometer D hardness of 30 to 90.
