PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma discharge tube for a decomposition device of an organic halogenated compound having an excellent corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: In the device for decomposing an organic halogenated compound, thermal plasma is generated by charging gas containing the organic halogenated compound with the energy of a microwave and the same is reacted with water vapor in the thermal plasma and decomposed. The discharge tube 21 used for the above device is made of either one among silicon carbide, silicon nitride, hexagonal boron nitride, aluminum nitride, magnesium oxide and alumina.
