Data in a TRAU/PCU frames format is transmitted for a second radio communications system (GSM) on an interface (Iub) between network devices (NodeB,BSC/RNC) for a first radio communications system (UTRA). A base station controller (BSC) builds up appropriate TRAU frames, converts them into AAL2 cells and transmits them via the interface to a base transceiver station. An Independent claim is also included for a base station system for a radio communications system to execute the method of the present invention.
