PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold for continuous casting capable of manufacturing a casting not generating restricting breakout even if high viscosity mold powder or mold powder high in solidification temperature is used, and excellent in surface condition. SOLUTION: A reverse taper portion, wherein the inner face of the mold is formed with a 0.01-0.07 deg. reverse taper angle against the vertical direction, is provided within the range from the upper position by 50 mm from the molten steel level to the upper position by 150 mm from the molten steel level in the mold, and a positive taper portion, wherein the inner face of the mold is formed with a 0-0.10 deg. positive taper angle against the vertical direction, is provided at the downward portion of the reverse taper portion.
