PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working tool for a clip type joint link for connecting a roller chain by equipping the clip type joint link to the link inside a roller chain, or parting the roller chain by releasing the clip type joint link from the inner link, attaining the work easily, safely and surely. SOLUTION: A pair of rodlike bodies 15 is composed of working pieces 4, 6 on one end, grip parts 2 on other end, and a sliding part 34 pivoted by a pivot shaft provided on the center to make slide-contact with each other, and constituted rotatably each other. On the working piece 4, a hole 35 fitting to either of pins in the clip type joint link is provided, and on the working piece 6, a pressing face 36 formed on the curved face acting to the end face of the clip equipped to the pin fitted astriding the pin is formed.
