PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic container which can securely hold solid cosmetics contained inside, having a high degree of effectiveness in shock absorption and ease of use as well. SOLUTION: In this cosmetic container, consisting of a wide-mouth container body 2 holding the solid cosmetic material 1 and a lid 3 to cover the wide-mouth container body 2, an elastic application puff 10 whose thickness is thicker than a space formed between the upper surface of the solid cosmetic material 1 and the lid 3, is kept in the space in a vertically-compressed state.
