PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a deaerating method of a coating liquid, in which the installation space is saved and the loss of the coating liquid is remarkably reduced by decreasing the volume of pipe lines. SOLUTION: The dissolved air in the coating liquid L is reduced by sucking air in a reserve tank 10, in which the coating liquid L is stored, by a vacuum pump 14 to depressurize the reserve tank 10 below the atmospheric pressure. The dissolved air in the coating liquid L, in which the dissolved air is reduced, is further deaerated by a deaerating membrane 22 of a membrane deaerating device 18. It is unnecessary to provide plural deaerating devices because the removing capacity for the dissolved air is improved by reducing the dissolved air in the coating liquid in the reserve tank 10. Then, the volume of the pipe lines is decreased to remarkably reduce the loss of the coating liquid and to save the installation space.
