Continuous production of nitrochlorobenzene, used as intermediates for dye, pharmaceutical and pesticide production, uses specified adiabatic conditions and acid composition in nitration of chlorobenzene

Continuous production of nitrochlorobenzene (I) from chlorobenzene (II) is new. Continuous production of nitrochlorobenzene (I) from chlorobenzene (II) comprises: (1) feeding (II), sulfuric acid (III), nitric acid (IV) and water (V) simultaneously or successively into a reactor and mixing with an average power of 1.5-40 W/l and temperature 10-50 deg C on first mixing; (2) using 70-80 wt.% (III) with respect to total (III), (IV) and (V) and adiabatic conditions; and (3) separating crude (I) at the reactor outlet from waste (III), which is concentrated to the original (III) content and recycled.
