A non reciprocal circuit device, such as a circulator or isolator, comprising a set of central conductors 51, 52, 53 wrapped around a magnetic body (54, see figure 1), is manufactured using a two-stage process. Firstly the central conductors are partially formed by punching a metal film hoop 10, so that they are still attached to the hoop. The hoop may then be wound around a reel, and transported without risk of breakage to another manufacturing station. Here the device is assembled by completely removing the conductors from the hoop, and folding the conductors around the magnetic body (see figure 2B). The devices are therefore manufactured accurately with high productivity, and decreased risk of bending or breakage during transport. Alignment of the conductors is also facilitated for the assembly process. |
