PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for recycling trees wherein in order to effectively treat and transport a branch leaf tree obtained by pruning and the like, after crushing the branch leaf tree, the leaf and branch tree which are made chips are separated, respectively and separately recycled. SOLUTION: This method for recycling comprises a step wherein the branch leaf tree 10 is obtained by lumbering and pruning trees; a coarsely crushing process wherein a leaf part 12 of the branch leaf tree 10 is cut from the woody part 14 so as to leave the shape almost as it is and the woody part 14 is crushed; and a step wherein the leaf part 12 and the woody part 14 are sorted.
