NITRIFICATION BACTERIUM-CONTAINING WATER FOR REARING FISHES AND SHELLFISHES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nitrification bacteria-containing water for rearing fishes and shellfishes capable of functioning nitrification bacteria in an activated state even immediate after starting of rearing and facilitating the rearing in its early stages. SOLUTION: This nitrification bacteria-containing water is used for a rearing apparatus in which rearing water is closed and circulated to rear fishes and shellfishes. The nitrification bacteria-containing is obtained by aging bacteria water containing nitrification bacteria, an ammonium salt and a carbonate until an ammonium-nitrogen concentration is reduced to a fixed concentration or below. The nitrification bacteria can be activated by feeding ammonium salt as a nitrogen source and the carbonate as a carbon source to the nitrification bacteria respectively.
