Trim panel for vehicles and method of producing the same

A novel interior finish for cars has a stiff substrate moulding (2), an attached, knitted spacer-layer (3) and a top layer of genuine leather (4). Between these layers there are further, adhesive layers (5, 6). Preferably, the knitted spacer-layer comprises two textile covering surfaces (7), held apart by a fibrous system (8). Preferably the adhesives comprise thermally-activated, melt adhesives or two-part polyurethane. Preferably the stiff substrate comprises fibre-reinforced polyurethane.
