PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable drug infusion device which can accurately control a required critical dosage of a drug like insulin. SOLUTION: A piezoelectric valve or a pump structure is used by combining a thermal flow sensor and a closed loop control circuit that controls a required flow. The drug infusion device 30 is made in extremely small dimensions and closely controls a flow of insulin and other drugs. This device is structurally divided into two sections, namely a section for recycling expensive electronic components 34 and a section for disposable liquid delivery components that can be separated 32, so that the device can be costly reduced, a drug can be thoroughly sterilized and the contamination of recycling liquids can be prevented by limiting the flow routes of disposable liquids. Thus, it is possible to electronically control the variation of drug flows by changing the flow and/or a flow programming, thereby conforming to the variation of requirements of a patient, time and delivery rate. |
