<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the carry of a hit ball and stabilize the direction of the hit ball. SOLUTION: The golf club head 1 consists of a face member 2 and a head main body 3 with the face member 2 mounted on the front. The face member 2 is made of an alloy which meets a prescribed requirement. When the head is on the standard condition when the head is put on a horizontal plane HP with prescribed lie angle and loft angle, the head main body 3 has a weight member 5 made of a material whose specific gravity is larger than that of the main body 3 in at least part of a region X located in the rear and lower part of the head among four regions divided by a first plane P1, passing the intermediate position in the height of the head from the horizontal plane HP to the highest point of the head and parallel to the horizontal plane HP, and a second plane P2, which is a vertical plane parallel to a straight line connecting the toe end and the heel end of the face, passing the middle point between the front edge 3b1 and the rear edge 3b2 of a sole part 3b.</p> |
