PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of an air impact driver. SOLUTION: An air motor, a centrifugal claw clutch mechanism, an air cylinder and a fixed nose as a screw guide are arranged in series. A driver bit 14 is mounted on the front of a piston 13 of the air cylinder 12 and a hexagonal shaft 15 is mounted on the back thereof, and the hexagonal shaft 15 is fitted into a hexagonal hole formed in an anvil 16 of the centrifugal claw clutch mechanism. A hole 19 larger than the hexagonal hole is formed in the center of a rotor 18 of the air motor so that the piston 13 and the driver bit 14 can be freely moved up and down in the air cylinder. With the air motor and the air cylinder driven at the same time by a compressed air, the hexagonal shaft 15, the piston 13 and the driver bit 14 are moved forward while being rotated integrally to enable tightening of a screw.
