摘要 Crankshaft bearing shell of a combustion engine consists of a steel/aluminum composite material having a steel support layer and a plated aluminum guiding layer made of a AlSn(20-23)Cu(1.8-2.3) alloy with small amounts of tin. The aluminum guiding layer has a Brinell hardness of at least 45 HB 1/5/30 after heat treatment. The tin is finely deposited with a size of less than 5 mu m. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of a crankshaft bearing shell comprising heat treating the steel/aluminum composite material at 200-220 deg C for 2-10 hours after rolling the aluminum alloy to form the guiding layer on the steel support layer. Preferred Features: The aluminum alloy contains alloying additions of up to 0.1 wt.% Ni 0.7 wt.% Si, 0.7 wt.% Fe, 0.7 wt.% Mn, and 0.2 wt.% Ti.
