PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel for fishing capable of readily carrying out selection change, etc., of operations or set conditions of various functions in relation to the reel for fishing. SOLUTION: This reel for fishing is equipped with a display device for displaying the set conditions, operating conditions and measured values of the various functions assembled in a memory means mounted on a reel body, switches for operating the various functions and a controlling means for controlling the various functions by operations of the switches and displaying the set conditions, operating conditions and measured values thereof in the display device in the reel body rotatably supporting a spool. In the reel for fishing, the switches are composed of a single operating unit mounted on the reel body so that the displacing operations can be performed and the controlling means can be changed over from an actual fishing mode to a changeover mode by the displacing operations of the operating unit. In the changeover mode, the various functions and set conditions of the various functions can respectively be selected by the displacing operations of the operating unit and the operating conditions and set conditions of the various functions can be set and changed by the displacing operations of the operating unit.
