摘要 The ring spinning machine, with a number of spinning stations, has a spindle (14) at each to take the wound cops (16). At the end of winding a cop, the yarn (28) is given a structured distribution of successive thick points (30) and thin points (32), by a variation of one or more machine parameters, to give a preset code (34). The wound cop, at a ring spinning station, has a yarn code through a variation of yarn thick/thin points as a barcode. To give the yarn coding, variations are given to the rotary speed of the final and/or initial cylinders of the drawing unit, which are powered by synchronous motors with their frequency converters. The yarn code denotes the spinning machine, the nature of the yarn raw material and/or the like. The machine parameters are varied by an electronic control, linked to at least one of the motor frequency converters. The yarn code is carried over a final length of the wound yarn which is equal to or smaller than the length of yarn trimmed away on decoding at the next processing stage, and especially an automatic bobbin winder. The code is scanned by a counter at an evaluation unit at the automatic bobbin winder, and especially at the yarn cleaning stage of the bobbin winder.
