摘要 PURPOSE: An antenna device is provided to be capable of self-phasing and producing directed beams without using sophisticated control electronics, such as phase shifters, adaptive controls, and feedback loops and using extensive computations. CONSTITUTION: An antenna device(10) comprises a metal plate, a waveguide(12), a common linear patch antenna array disposed on an upper surface of the waveguide(12), a plurality of electrical inputs, and a transmitting and receiving circuit. The waveguide(12) further includes a plurality of sections having slots for guiding a corresponding plurality of electromagnetic waves. The electrical inputs are connected to the waveguide(12) and the linear patch antenna array for feeding the electromagnetic waves at a predetermined frequency. The transmitting and receiving circuit is transmitted the electromagnetic waves to the waveguide(12) and the linear patch antenna array, and received electrical signals from the linear patch antenna array. Thereby, when the electromagnetic waves are directed through the sections of the waveguide(12), the plurality of waveguide sections generate a plurality of phase differences which accumulate to form a directed beam through the linear patch antenna array.
