Encapsulation of spliced electrical con- - ductors in a gel

A method of encapsulating the spliced ends of electrical conductors comprises inserting them in a gel. A thermoplastic flexible bag contains a resilient porous liner and a quantity of the gel that penetrates the liner and clings to the walls of the bag. Spliced wires are introduced into the bag through a mouth which is subsequently closed by a tie. Pref. the gel is a heat blend of 85% petrolatum and 15% low density polyethylene.
