PURPOSE: A hinge mechanism for a vehicle seat and a seat including the mechanism are provided to reduce the weight, to cut down manufacturing expenses, and to improve the rigidity by eliminating the single slug from the hinge mechanism. CONSTITUTION: A hinge mechanism comprises a fixed cheek plate(107), a moving cheek plate provided with a circular set of teeth(113), and two toothed slugs disposed at 120 angular degrees relative to each other. The slugs are slid relative to the fixed cheek plate, and are adapted to co-operate with the circular set of teeth in order to lock the moving cheek plate, a cam(116) for controlling radial displacement of the slugs, and two abutments belonging to the fixed cheek plate, each plate facing the rear end of the corresponding slug among the slugs and serving as the bearing surface for the cam. |
