The outer membrane (1) and/or movable plate (3) contain cooperating endless grooves (5) with a varying or constant depth, along which balls (2) or rollers are freely movable between the membrane and plate to create one or more raised projections at the membrane surface. The projections move when the plate is moved or rotated and the height of these projections depends on the groove depth. The projections have a massaging effect on the part of the body the membrane is being pressed against. The flexible outer membrane is held against a flexible inner plate, the latter being movable using a motor (4) and balls or rollers between the membrane and plate. |
