The invention relates to a vehicle system which is used to monitor a vehicle. According to the invention, several cameras (12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22) are arranged on the vehicle (10) in order to detect at least one section of the shell and a relatively close environment of the vehicle, and a recording device (26) for storing image signals of the cameras, in addition to a housing for receiving a recording device in an unbreakable, manipulation-proof manner are provided.
