PURPOSE: A method for compensating errors about the idle decision for a vehicle is provided to improve the problems in driving about the idle decision errors and degrade the recall rate of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: When the vehicle is in stop condition and the range of target RPM, and a TPS variation is in the range of an idle decision TPS variation, a method checks whether the TPS output is less than the added value of a higher value of the previous TPS output and previous studied value to the TPS return variation for the idle decision. If it is checked as the TPS output is less than the added value, an idle decision delay count is initialized to zero. The present idle decision delay count is set by increasing the previous idle decision count by one. The method checks whether the idle count is more than the number of idle decision delay. If the idle count is more than the number of idle decision delay, the TPS output is set as the TPS studied value and the idle count is deleted, and then the idle flag is converted to be on.
