A polymerisation process comprises an initiation step, taking place between at least one initiator compound and at least one species of monomer, a propagation step and a termination step, at least the propagation step being carried out within a liquefied gas continuous phase. The liquefied gas continuous phase may comprise a C1 to C4 hydrofluorocarbon, such as 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroeth ane. The use of one or more polymers, at least one of which contains a basic nitrogen-containing moiety, as a cationic gelling agentis also provided. |
