PURPOSE: A prion diagnosis method is provided to reduce time and cost for diagnosis by eliminating the process of proteolytic enzyme treatment and detecting the final product of non-enzymatic saccharification reaction existing only at the N-end of prion protein. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a first step of producing final product of non-enzymatic saccharification by synthesizing peptide corresponding to N-end of prion protein and permitting the synthesized material to react to a sugar compound, such that the final product has properties similar to the properties of the final product of non-enzymatic saccharification existing at N-end of pathogenic prion protein existing in the brain of a living matter in the prion disease; a second step of producing multi-clone or single-clone antibody by using, as an antigen, the final product of non-enzymatic saccharification reaction; and a third step of diagnosing prion disease for animal or human by using thus-produced antibody.
