PURPOSE: A support member for safely bearing a fishing rod is provided to prevent the loss of the fishing rod by effectively clamping the fishing rod. CONSTITUTION: The support member for safely bearing a fishing rod is constructed by fitting a fishing rod insertion pipe into the lower part of a fulcrum(10) provided with a fishing rod bearing portion(13) over a conventional fishing rod bearing stick so that the fishing rod insertion pipe is rotatable in the upper part of the fulcrum. In addition, the fulcrum consists of a vertical portion extending downwardly, a horizontal portion extending horizontally spaced from the vertical portion at a desired distance, and a rotatable actuating rod.
