PURPOSE: A voice/signal processing module for a voice mailbox service device is provided to cut down on expenses for interposing a communication module by enabling a voice/signal processing module to smoothly transmit and receive data without using an expensive communication module. CONSTITUTION: A voice/signal processing module(30) is composed of a vocoder(31), the first dual access RAM(35), a DTMF/Tone signal detection unit(36) and the second dual access RAM(40). The vocoder(31) is connected to a private exchange through a PCM(Pulse Code Modulation) highway and a system interface. In addition, the vocoder(31) compresses and modulates voice data of an internal subscriber applied through the PCM highway. The first dual access RAM(35) receives a control signal of a control unit and transmits the signal to the vocoder(31). In addition, the first RAM(35) stores the voice data compressed and modulated. The DTMF/Tone signal detection unit(36) analyzes and processes a function-selective DTMF/Tone signal applied through the PCM highway. The second dual access RAM(40) receives the control signal of the control unit and transmits the signal to the DTMF/Tone signal detection unit(36).
