Method is for machining symbol sequence fed from symbol characterisation process and comprises comparison of symbol sequence with stored symbol runs. For each stored symbol run a corresponding dimension is generated which indicates how well the actual symbol run agrees with the actual symbol sequence The corresponding dimension is based on at least a symbol in the sequence which is joined to the feed-in possibilities, each of which gives the probability that the symbol is the result of the symbol characterisation process corresponding to a specific fed-in symbol. |
