PURPOSE: An optical fiber dispersion equalizer is provided to compensate variation in propagation rate among employed wavelengths. CONSTITUTION: An optical fiber(1) having a grating(2) causes reflection of light of a predetermined wavelength from signal light propagating through the optical fiber(1). A substrate(4) has a groove for mounting the optical fiber(1). A plurality of heaters(3) regulate the temperature of the optical fiber(1). A plurality of heaters(3) are arranged on the substrate(4) along the groove.
