PURPOSE: A steering column of a vehicle is provided to protect a driver safe by restraining a steering column from invading toward the interior of a vehicle in a head-on collision. CONSTITUTION: An assembling bracket(31) is attached to the outer face of a lower tube(3). A support bracket(32) is installed on the inner face of a lower bracket(6) facing the assembling bracket. A rubber damper(33) in face-to-face contact with the inner face of the support brake and the outer face of the assembling bracket is installed in the space between the assembling bracket and the support bracket. The separation of the assembling bracket from the support bracket is avoided in a head-on collision. Therefore, the invasion of a steering column(10) to the interior of a vehicle is prevented.
