PURPOSE: A backplane board of an SCSI(Small Computer System Interface) is provided to support the wide ultra-3 LVD(Low Voltage Differential) SCSI, wide ultra-2, and ultra-SE(Single Ended), to increase the speed up to 160MB/S, to support the function of SAF-TE(SCSI Accessed Fault-Tolerant Enclosures), install 10 1-inch disks at the maximum, to use an SCSI bus via a single channel, to compose RAID in various structures, and to offer the function of SAF-TE with two SCSI buses. CONSTITUTION: The backplane board comprises an EPLD(Embedded Programmable Array Logic) unit including an SAFT-TE logic, a buffer logic and a terminator logic and generally controlling the board, an SAF-TE logic unit transmitting SCSI data by dividing into an SCSI A channel and an SCSI B channel and offering the information about the states of a device slot, power supply, a fan and temperature, a terminal logic unit supporting a multi-mode LVD/SE motion for the SAF-TE logic unit and the SCSI channels, and a buffer logic unit connecting the SCSI A channel with the SCSI B channel. The SAF-TE logic unit consists of two GEh 4354(Enclosure Management Controller) chips.
