PURPOSE: An active matrix-type EL(Electro-Luminescent) device is provided to increase a lifetime of the EL device. CONSTITUTION: The EL display has a pixel portion(101) formed of a TFT on a substrate, a source signal side driver circuit(102) arranged in the periphery of the pixel portion(101), and a gate signal side driver circuit(103). The EL display has the source signal side driver circuit and the gate signal side driver circuit, respectively. However, the source signal side driver circuit may be two. Furthermore, the gate signal side driver circuit may be two as well. The source signal side driver circuit(102) basically includes a shift register(102a), a latch(A)(102b), and a latch(B)(102c). Furthermore, a clock signal(CK) and a start pulse(SP) are inputted to the shift register(102a). Digital data signals are inputted to the latch(A)(102b). Latch signals are inputted to the latch(B)(102c). |
